The pilot was the only occupant of the aircraft and did not survive the crash. While authorities have yet to release the pilot's identity, first responders and airport rescue teams were on-site to respond to the unfortunate event. In light of this incident, the remaining part of the air show has been canceled as investigations are underway.

Authorities, including the New Mexico State Police and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), are conducting investigations to determine the cause of the crash.
