Spooky season does not end in one household as a dog's eyes can send chills down your spine. This miniature schnauzer has eyes that resemble a human's eyes. But instead of that relaxed, calm look, this dog named Moxie stares without blinking. And her bushy eyebrows accentuate the eyes.
Her "evil human eyes" are always watching your every move, peering around the corner and searching deep within your soul. It would be nearly impossible to get a peaceful night of rest with Moxie living in the household. Don't let the fluff fool you.
The November 18 TikTok video brought in over 1.3 million views. Her piercing blue eyes gave viewers goosebumps as it was totally unexpected. Users have been flooding the comments section saying this creepy stare reminds them too much of "uncanny valley." This means artificial characters or objects, in this case the dog, are very close to being human-like, but they aren't quite there yet. This closeness can trigger uneasiness.
"Oh, it was worse than I imagined," commented one TikTok user. Another viewer added: "She has seen horrors beyond the comprehension of man, all of which she orchestrated." But not everyone was creeped out by Moxie's human-like eyes. One person wrote: "This particular breed has a very specific look to them, but certainly not evil! Very adorable baby that wants cuddles, I can tell. Look at her aww."
Newsweek reached out to the dog owner via email for comment.
Understanding Eye Problems in Mini Schnauzers
Miniature schnauzers, like all dogs, are prone to some diseases and illnesses including bladder stones, pancreatitis, atopic dermatitis, hyperlipidemia, and liver shunts. As far as eye problems go, mini schnauzers often deal with cataracts, which are characterized by the cloudiness of the eye lens.
This dog breed can be predisposed to cataracts at birth or it might develop them with age. Dogs might also develop cataracts as a secondary condition due to diabetes, eye diseases, or trauma, according to Pet Keen.
Dog owners should look for the following signs to determine whether or not their furry friend might have cataracts: cloudy eyes, a white-ish appearance of the pupil, signs of sight loss, and complications such as lens-induced uveitis, glaucoma, and lens luxation. Surgery is the only option for treatment, and if left untreated, it can lead to vision loss.
