Best Tips And Tricks To Help You Win At 'Wordle' Every Time

Today's Wordle is a bit difficult to solve so if you need help, you have come to the right place. This addictive word puzzle has captivated players since its launch, and many find joy in tackling the daily challenge. Created by Josh Wardle, the game allows players to guess a five-letter word in just six tries, making it a fun and engaging way to sharpen vocabulary skills.

The word-based game took the world by storm after its creator, Josh Wardle, released it to the public in 2021. The New York-based software developer had perfected the puzzle during the coronavirus lockdown "for me and my partner to enjoy." Little did he know that it would eventually become an international sensation, drawing millions of players eager to test their word-guessing abilities.

After its public debut, Wordle exploded from 90 users on November 1, 2021, to 300,000 on January 2, 2022, according to figures by Statista. In January 2022, The New York Times purchased Wordle for an undisclosed low seven-figure sum, though the game remained free to play. With a new puzzle to solve daily, the game's simplicity and the thrill of guessing the word make it appealing to a wide audience.

Players need to solve a mystery five-letter word in six guesses or fewer and are guided by a color-coded tile system to let them know if they are on the right track. A green tile means the letter is correct, yellow tells you the letter appears in the word but is in the wrong spot, and a gray tile means the letter doesn't appear in the word at all. This unique feedback mechanism is part of what keeps players returning for more.

WordsRated crunched some numbers and found the most common starting letter used by Wordle players is S, with 15.81 percent of answers beginning with it. The next most common starting letter is C, with 8.58 percent of Wordle answers starting with that consonant, although S is the starting letter for 167 more words than its nearest rival. B is in third place with 7.49 percent.
