Eevee is one of the most adorable and versatile Pokémon you can get. So it makes sense that you’d want to get one right away in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, both to capitalize on its abilities with elemental evolutions and to keep that adorable face by your side. And since the Pokémon of your choice can walk beside you in Scarlet and Violet with the Let’s Go game mechanic, your cute little buddy can check out every area of the Paldea region with you.

While Eevee makes a great traveling companion, you’ll definitely want one for its ability to evolve into a variety of forms like the Fire Pokémon Flareon or Water Pokémon Vaporeon. You can easily control Eevee’s evolutions, and they come in just about every elemental flavor you can think of, including Fairy. But if you want to take Eevee and turn it into a powerhouse in one of its evolutionary forms, you’re first going to have to track one down.

The good news is, you don’t have to wait for someone to give you an Eevee to start working with one. If you’re wondering how you can go about getting Eevee or where to look to find one so you can choose which evolution to pursue, we’ve got your back. Here’s how you can get Eevee in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

How to Get Eevee in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

You can typically find wild Eevee roaming around in the Paldeon region. Some of the hotspots they spend time in are around the route leading to the Pokémon League in the Northwest of Mesagoza area or the North of Medali or West of Cortondo locations, though these rare Pokémon do take a little time to spawn.

The Eevee in the Northwest of Mesagoza area start at around Level 7, while those in the West of Cortondo area are typically Level 10. Those found Northwest of Medali are around Level 30. You’re most likely to find Eevee in the Northwest of Medali region, which is lucky given their higher experience level, and when you reach this area, you’ll tend to be about halfway through the game.

If you roam the area and just can’t get an Eevee to spawn, try and explore closer to the town border. As the official Pokédex entry for Eevee says, these Pokémon live near towns and cities, though they’re “rarely seen.” That part may prove to be an issue for you, but if you do a modicum of exploring and don’t happen upon an Eevee, don’t get discouraged. Just leave the area and come right back. Eventually, the Pokémon will spawn, and you can capture it like any other monster in the game.

If you manage to capture two Eevees, you can also obtain another by having them lay an egg together. You can do this with Eevee’s evolutions as well, as long as they have compatible genders. If two Eevee or even a Flareon and Jolteon lay an egg (or so on), you’ll have a baby Eevee when the egg hatches. Of course, this will require you to have already had an Eevee, but if you want to control their stats more closely, this is the way to do it.
