Simone Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, are embracing their future together with plans for children! Recently, in an interview with People, Owens, a 29-year-old safety for the Chicago Bears, shared that they are definitely considering starting a family. He mentioned that while they are looking forward to having kids, it will be "in the future." This sentiment is echoed by Biles, who expressed in her talk with Today that both she and Owens have goals to achieve before welcoming children into their lives.
Biles, who is now 27, revealed that discussions about having kids are common between her and Jonathan. She humorously noted that he would want to start a family "like, yesterday" if it were up to him! Even though Biles prefers to wait for the right moment, she has already begun to feel those maternal instincts, especially while caring for her younger sister, Adria.
The couple, while being just two years apart in age, has already faced significant challenges in their lives. Simone took on a motherly role for her younger sister during their time in foster care, where they lived for three years before being adopted by their loving grandparents, Ronald and Nellie Biles. This experience has undoubtedly shaped her outlook on family and parenting.
When it comes to encouraging their future children in athletics, Owens stated that he would never impose his ambitions on them. "If that's what they want to do, I'm not going to try to force anything on them," he explained. He also highlighted that with Simone being "big on taking pictures," their home will likely be filled with memories for their kids to enjoy as they grow up.
In a recent interview with Hoda Kotb, Biles expressed her excitement about becoming a mother someday and shared that both she and Owens want to offer their children a strong support system in whatever they choose to pursue. "At the end of the day, I just want to support them a hundred percent in whatever they want to do," Owens added.
Simone and Jonathan's love story began on the dating app Raya in March 2020. They went Instagram official a few months later, became engaged in February 2022, and tied the knot in an intimate courthouse ceremony in Texas on April 22, 2023. A month later, they celebrated with a lavish destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, inviting 144 guests to witness their love.
